Supervision
Ms. Garza-Louis is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor Supervisor and a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor. Supervision includes weekly meetings for 1 hour face-to-face or online individually and in group. Supervision includes review of cases, discussion of difficult issues, review of various theoretical orientations, and awareness of cultural diversity. Board rules (LPC, LMFT) and HIPAA compliance is also discussed.

Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is not an exact science so, there are no guarantees made as to the results of such a service. In treatment you may expect to review and discuss issues which are causing distress or discomfort to you or your family and ways of dealing with these issues. Solutions are explored, but may not always be attainable.
Participation in treatment is voluntary, although you may be referred by an agency that requires that you participate in this program. If you have been court ordered to treatment, you can refuse this treatment at any time and consult with the agency that has referred you.
If we are unable to provide the services you need, you may be referred to another resource for services that might better suit your needs.
Cancellations
Clients are expected to call 24 hrs. in advance to cancel appointments. You may be charged the full fee for your appointment if you do not call to cancel 24 hrs. in advance.
Court Proceedings
If your case requires any services due to court proceedings, including contact with collateral parties/attorneys, etc., review or copies of records, depositions, preparation for court, court appearance or any other related services, you will be asked to provide a retainer to cover the costs of these services.
Divorce/Custody Cases
A copy of the divorce decree and any current visitation and custodial agreements/orders regarding your child is required in cases of divorce when receiving services from Rio Grande Counseling Center, as required by the Title 22 of the Texas Administrative Code Chapter 681.
Therapist Consultation
From time to time, your therapist may consult with other staff at Rio Grande Counseling Center or an outside consultant regarding your case to assist in treatment planning and service delivery. All consultation is done in a confidential manner and information regarding your identity is not provided to others.
Complaints
If your are dissatisfied with the services received or you have a complaint regarding the person whom the services were received from, you can submit a complaint to Ms. Garza Louis or file a complaint with the State Board that licenses the therapist.
