Diana Garza Louis, LPC-S, LMFT-S, LSOTP-S, RPT

Ms. Diana Garza Louis is the founder and director of the Rio Grande Counseling Center. She is bilingual and bi-cultural. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from theUniversity of Texas and a Masters of Education from Texas State University and studied for three years at the University of the Americas in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico. Ms. Garza-Louis has extensive experience in counseling and specializes in treating children, adults, and families who are in transition, who are victims of trauma, or who are experiencing grief and loss issues. She has an extensive background in Play Therapy and is past-president of theTexas Association for Play Therapy. Ms. Garza-Louis is also a Licensed SexOffender Treatment Provider and co-author of the "Ventura" treatment manual. Ms. Garza-Louis has also published books and articles in Spanish and English on various subjects and has translated various materials on Play Therapy andtreatment of sexual abusers.  She has made presentations locally, nationallyand internationally on a variety of subjects including treatment of sexualabuse victims, families and perpetrators, play therapy, counseling techniquesand marriage and family therapy. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor,a Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor and a Sex Offender Treatment ProviderSupervisor offering supervision to interns seeking licensure.

Dr. Nicolas Carrasco, Ph.D., LSOTP

Dr. Carrasco is bi-lingual and bi-cultural. He received his B.A. in Psychology from St. Edward’s University and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. He is licensed as a Psychologist, a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider, a Specialist in School Psychology as well as a Licensed Child Care Administrator. Dr. Carrasco provides training, consultation and treatment services for agencies and individuals working with juveniles and with violent offenders. He has worked as the Director of Psychological Services at Giddings State Home and School, as a Corrections Psychologist, a Migrant Teacher and a Mental HealthWorker. Dr. Carrasco has managed a Research Team at the University of Texas that included interviewing Mexican American and Anglo American families.

As a Licensed Psychologist he provides a complete spectrum of psychological services to children and adults. His services include administering intelligence and personality tests in English and when appropriate, in Spanish. Dr. Carrasco, in addition to leading numerous groups, specializes in individual and group psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults. He is an Adjunct Professor in the ClinicalPsychology Department at the University of Texas at Austin, and has publishednumerous articles on sex offender treatment and other related topics and haspresented a wide variety of material at local, national and international meetings and conferences.                                                                       

Shanti Duncan, M.A., LPC-S, LSOTP
 
Shanti Duncan is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider, and a Board Certified Professional Counselor. She received a B.A. in psychology from Northern Illinois University and an M.A. in professional counseling from Southwest Texas State University. 

Ms. Duncan has extensive experience working with youth and adults in the criminaljustice system and has led or co-led groups for adults and adolescents withsexual behavior problems and their families. She has also worked with parentsand families going through divorce and dealing with custody, parenting andadoption issues. Ms. Duncan has training in disaster mental health and hasworked with the Red Cross and the Austin Police Department during the responseto the Katrina and Rita hurricanes.

Ms. Duncan provides counseling services to adults, adolescents and children dealing with a wide range of issues, including trauma, sexual behavior problems and parenting concerns. She offers individual and group psychotherapy sessions, utilizing talk therapy, play therapy, sand tray therapy, and EMDR.
